Sharqiyin tribes dominate Fujairah, a city located at the entrance of the Wadi Ham, which runs through the mountains and into the Persian Gulf Coast. The fifth-largest emirate in the UAE, Fujairah, has a land area of 1,166 km2 (450 sq mi), or roughly 1.5 percent of the total area of the UAE. Only the Emirate of Umm al-Quwain has fewer residents than its 225,360 inhabitants (as of 2016).
